Field note 02 / Commercial, construction, roofing & industrial

Let the work
make the case.

How to turn an everyday job into useful, credible content for a local service business.

A finished surface is the result. The decisions and care behind it are the story worth showing.

01

Film the parts a customer cannot see.

A finished driveway can look simple from the street. Preparation, grading, edges, cleanup, and the decisions made on site tell a fuller story. Ask a crew member to explain one detail in plain language: what they are doing, why it matters, and what the property owner should expect. A useful explanation can do more for a customer’s confidence than another broad claim about quality.

02

Make the comparison fair.

For before-and-after content, use the same viewpoint and similar framing. Keep the original clips, avoid changes that exaggerate the difference, and describe what the project actually included. Get the property owner’s permission before filming or naming the location. Keep customers, neighbors, house numbers, and vehicle plates out of the frame when they do not need to be part of the story.

03

Help the next customer take the first step.

End with the information someone needs to start a conversation: the type of work you handle, the area you serve, and how to request an estimate. A short FAQ can be a strong follow-up post. Explain what you need to prepare an estimate or how the process begins, using your actual practices. Avoid a universal promise where weather, site conditions, or the scope of work can change the answer.

Give the product
a real-life role.

Specs describe a product. A good demonstration helps someone picture what they would actually do with it.
